Mission in a Minute

National Hydration Day: June 23

Staying hydrated – especially during the warmer months when you may spend more time outdoors – is critically important for maintaining your health. And while reaching for a single-use plastic water bottle to quench your thirst might seem convenient, choosing a reusable water bottle not only keeps you hydrated, but also helps protect the environment by preventing waste.

For the past 75 years, Nalgene, Thermo Fisher Scientific’s only consumer brand, has made a commitment to reduce waste, improve access to clean water and provide sustainable products for all. By using innovative resin to manufacture water bottles that are safe, BPA/BPS-free and made from 50% recycled materials (ISCC-certified), Nalgene water bottles are built to last – whether you’re at work, the gym or on the go.

Through charitable work and partnerships, we allocate a percentage of the proceeds from our Nalgene bottle sales to support various causes. Recently, our Nalgene Water Fund extended its support to Appalachia with a $50,000 donation to DigDeep’s Appalachia Water Project, which aims to bring clean and reliable water to communities that face significant water access challenges.

Additionally, our ongoing partnership with Reverb for its #RockNRefill campaign has diverted 4 million single-use water bottles from landfills and raised more than $5 million for environmental and social causes since the program began in 2013.
