The Fisher Clinical Services Logistics Team in Russia handles thousands of shipments each month. The process is streamlined in an effort to realize cost and performance efficiencies across all shipments. However, there are instances when the Logistics Team needs to take extraordinary measures to get clinical trial supplies to patients on time. 

The Challenge
Our client, a U.S. pharmaceutical company, asked us to arrange an urgent shipment from Moscow to St. Petersburg. This unexpected request was received over a 5-day national holiday (May 1st-5th) - the patients needed the drug urgently!

The Solution
The Fisher Clinical Services Manager who received the holiday request at 2:15 am (Moscow time) replied to the query within an hour. The Fisher Clinical Services team discussed the predicament, agreed on a strategy and organized overtime production shifts. Project managers and warehouse operators came to work over their holidays. The incoming cargo was removed from quarantine, quickly verified, and the data were downloaded into Fisher Clinical Services Global Project Management system in order to arrange the urgent dispatch of the shipment in the required timelines. As a result, the patients received the medicine on time and the clinical trial stayed on track.

The manual shipment order on shipment was received from the client

Sunday, May 4:
Goods were verified and data was downloaded into GPM system

Monday, May 5:
The outgoing shipment was arranged

Tuesday, May 6:
The shipment was delivered to site. The Client was very pleased with the way in which Fisher Clinical Services Russia flawlessly conducted the clinical supply work during a major holiday weekend.
